In service to nation, a jail sentence of 5o Years (Two life term), 11 years in Kalapani at Andaman followed by 17 years at Ratnagiri jail that is total 27 years of Jail imprisonment can embarrass anyone having lofty claim and pompous sobriquet like Bapu, Chacha, Qaida e Azam.

While Alive or Dead, the aura of Veer Savarkar i.e Vinayak Damodar Savarkar has caused heartburn and jealousy to every self-proclaimed pseudo nationalist and communist. The Sacrifice and offerings to the nation had been cause of fear for British, insecurity for Nehru Gandhi and heartburn for Jinnah followers. A generation of government sponsored fake historians, sold intellectuals and self-hating propagandist adulterated complete two generations by parroting insidious and fake stories on Veer Savarkar.

Every political leader had fear of being marginalized if the sacrifice of Savarkar would have reached to the masses. Hence Savarkar was conspired to be isolated and defamed.  Not that Savarkar alone was the victim but Ambedkar and Subhash Bose were no less victims of such historical conspiracies.

Veer Savarkar born on 28 May 1883, had a much challenged childhood. Despite that there was fire in him. He is said to have conspired an armed revolt against the Morley-Minto pact in 1909 at the age of 26 and allegedly plotted to assassinate the Collector of Nashik. Veer Savarkar escaped to reach Paris. He was arrested in France where he made another brave bid to escape at Marseille (France), but fighting against the mighty resource and espionage system of British Empire he was apprehended again and shipped to India. He was put on trial with two jail terms of life sentence total amounting to 50 years. He was not declared a political prisoner unlike other leaders. And hence sent to Kalapani at cellular Jail in Andaman Island.

Savarkar was kept in solitary confinement overlooking a gallows room where freedom fighters were hanged daily. No contact from outside world and endless torture physical assault was routine over there. Veer Savarkar was manacled, made to eat rice riddled with worms. Any resistance to this food was brutally responded. A rubber catheter used to be inserted through the nostril through to the gullet into the stomach for force feeding. Many never survived this torture. No medical relief was available. Along with fellow prisoners in groups, he was chained like bullocks, blindfolded and dragged to the oil mills. In a humid condition, grinding mustard seed for endless hours was among the ordinary punishment. Flogging at intermittent hours was normal practice.

In order to ensure that the generation of Indian be kept in dark about the inhumane life condition and torture at Kalapani Andaman, brutal history has been erased from the subject curriculum in India.

World had never heard of such mass torture. Nearly 80,000 prisoners lost their life in Andaman in a few years of stay. Veer Savarkar was among very few who undertook such a barbaric torture for over one decade.

And Shameless intellectuals, historians and the then leader like Gandhi and Nehru never acknowledged such sacrifice. Never uttered or condemned British Raj just out of fear and favor. In the corner of a paragraph of a text book a mere passing remark was made and felt enough has been said against British Raj.

Veer Savarkar spent 11 long precious years in solitary confinement at Andaman.  He underwent the severest of cruelty, physical torture and horrible suffering that no mortal humanity could have withstood.

Yet, He was not physically or morally or intellectually down, broken or eliminated.

The contribution of Veer Savarkar in molding Hindu Psyche, Hindutwa and Indian nationalism would have been an oblivious past, had he not made a tactical move in line with Lord Shiva jee daring vision. Chatrpati Shivaji planned his escape meticulously at Agra from the Mughal. What Chatrapati Shiva Jee did to Mughal after his deceptive escape from Agra fort is history today. Chatrapati Shivaji in years ahead was able to decimate Mugal from Marathawada. Maratha went on to defeat Mughal in Delhi and appointed Alam Shah a Mughal king as his Subedar in 1757. Maratha sprinted and speared through Afghan territory Subjugating Peshwar in the year 1758 and hoisted the Bhagwa flag in Peshwar. Veer Savarkar followed Chatrapati Shiva jee in true sense.

After 11 years of Kalapani, Veer Savarkar was shifted to Ratnagiri jail on condition of dissociating from any political activity. Yet Veer Savarkar managed his engagement behind the veil of social and cultural activity. His ideological leadership and organizing ability even from prison was a matter of heartburn for communist and historians. He urgently felt the need to mobilize, organize and make aware the Hindu Society.

Numerous False hood and trivial ridicule had been spread by Fake Historians about Veer Savarkar. Multiple petitions for relief from Kalapani makes headlines even these days to belittle the sacrifice of Veer Savarkar especially by Communist historians. These were the same group of British agents who stood behind the Raj, conspired to balkanize India, Supported appeasement policy and supported China in 1962. What Veer Savarkar did was a simple legal exercise for remission available under the rules in those days.

After completing his 27 years in Prison Veer Savarkar became the president of ‘Hindu Mahasabha’ in 1937. He was an ideologue an intellectual harbinger for RSS. RSS incorporated his vision on nationalism as mentioned in his book “Rastra Mimansa” in its first systematic statement in 1938.

Veer Savarkar was an ideologue and visionary, who stimulated the sleeping conscience of ordinary masses. He had the ability of writing and oratory to stir up his audience. He was creative and could have identified the surreptitious undercurrent of slumbering masse`s conscience.

Veer Savarkar wrote as many as 38 books in English and Marathi and two novels named –Mopilla Rebellion and My Transportation of Life -Poetry and Plays. His most illustrious work which is not taught in any college today is “The Indian war of Independence 1857 and Hindutva: Who is Hindu?

A visionary Savarkar had realized so early and penned his ideas about the unity among Hindu Sikh Buddhist and Jain and renouncement of caste system as well as untouchability. He rejected the divisive schism of Aryan and Dravidian theory and warned the nation of divisive deceit being circulated among the masses by the duo of Max Muller and Macaulay led veiled missionaries.

Veer Savarkar, Baba Ambedkar and Ras Behari Bose were unanimous to Indianize the British police by invoking the youth of Hindu and Sikh to enter and occupy the position.  These revolutionaries had the vision of building a band of armed militia.  For such an outstanding piece of vision, Neta Jee Subhash Chandra offered profuse praise from his broadcast he made from Singapore on 25th August 1944.  His words for Veer Savarkar “gratitude for fearlessly exhorting the youth to enlist in the armed forces.”  Following him another prodigious freedom fighter Rash Behari Bose remarked in this radio broadcast. “I salute you for your sacrifice”.

Similarly too less is known to the generation today that the Bhagat Singh and Sukhdev had great reverence and inspiration from the sacrifice and work of Veer Savarkar.  He ensured that all his associates must read and keep the copy of the book “Life of Barrister Savarkar” written under a pseudo pen name “Chitragupta”. This revelation about Bhagat Singh and Sukhdev was made by none other than his closest associates and freedom fighter Durga Das Khanna much later.

All these words of extreme consolation and admiration were buried under nonsense of prejudice and hatred against Veer Savarkar.

Following independence on 15th august, 1947 and killing of Gandhi jee on 30th Jan 1948, Veer Savarkar name was dragged in conspiracy of murder of Gandhi. The press and political narrative created an ambience against Veer Savarkar. Finally the Court acquitted him of all the charges and later on Kapoor commission 1969 also absolved him of any conspiracy charges as well.

Years ahead, Ageing body and old age disease had impeded Veer Savarkar mobility. He was further restrained by the Government of Independent India from making any Hindu nationalist speech.

Such was the hatred for Veer Savarkar, that never any Government functionaries or any congress leader attended his meeting till Nehru was alive. Once Nehru died in 1964, working Prime Minister Gulzari lal Nanda ordered to pay him the Government monthly pension of freedom fighters. Later Late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi also appreciated and recognized his sacrifice and service to the nation.

After the demise of Yamuna Savarkar the wife of Veer Savarkar in 1963, Savarkar started evaluating his mission of life. He now had realization of his limited physical ability. He felt he had accomplished his life mission for the nation within his ability. He was slowly sinking into spiritual conscience. His love for mortal body was slowly waning. He gradually renounced his medicine, his food and water and gracefully set for heavenly abode on 26th Feb 1966.

True to his atheist belief, He asked his companion not to pursue extended ritual instead only funeral of his mortal remains.  Veer Savarkar led a life of extreme pain, privation and struggle for nation and Hindu Society throughout his life.
